17th BALKAN SALSA CONGRESS

The Balkan Salsa Congress is a three-day festival, uniting the salsa fans of the Balkan countries: Bulgaria, Greece, Romania, Turkey, Serbia, Macedonia and Cyprus through the magic of dancing.

The event is one of the top 3 biggest salsa congresses in Europe. Usually there is large-scale presence - more than 4,500 dancers at all ages from all over the world. The venue is the four-star Samokov hotel, in the heart of the beautiful Bulgarian resort Borovets. The participants are accommodated at Samokov Hotel, the Rila Hotel, and the smaller hotels Ela, Iglika, Yanakiev, The lodge, Mura, Breza , Iceberg and Ice Angels.

The program of the congress is composed of different activities that entertained all the participants twenty-four hours. During the day, there are many dance workshops with popular dance instructors from all over the world in 8 different halls. Guests can also enjoy the pool party with funny dance animations and poolside games.

During the night, there are spectacular and exciting show programs with attractive performers: solo, couples, rueda, team, kids, ladies and men shows.
There is annual competition Balkan Salsa Open as well, with prestigious prizes and cups, which hosts leading names from different countries.

During the night, there are huge dance parties, going on until the morning. Each room is for specific dances: LA/NY salsa; Cuban; Bachata, Kizomba, with the participation of famous DJs and LIVE orchestras from abroad are held every night in 6 different halls.

One of the unique attraction at the congress is the Halloween Party on Saturday night, with scary masks and costumes.

Balkan Salsa Congress has local and international impact for the development and popularization of the Latin dances. The event attracts many new fans of Latin culture and presents Bulgaria and its achievements in this field to the European and world public as well as to the Balkans.

The first Balkan Salsa Congress was in 2007 and has great reputation for already 17 editions.
